How to Wear a Satin Scarf: Four Everyday Styles

2. A simple side knot

1. Fold the scarf into a narrower band.
2. Drape it around your neck and cross the ends.
3. Tie a loose single knot and move it slightly to one side.

Leave space at the neckline and avoid pulling tightly. Adjust the folds so the part of the print you like faces outwards.

3. A shoulder wrap

Open a long scarf and centre it across your shoulders. Bring both ends forward and let them fall naturally. This keeps more of the design visible and works well over a plain dress or top. If you need the wrap to stay in place, tie a loose knot at the front rather than using a sharp pin through the fabric.

4. A bag-handle accent

Fold the scarf into a narrow band and tie a soft knot around one handle. Leave the ends hanging or make a loose bow. A smaller scarf may be easier to manage here; keep loose ends clear of zips and anything they could catch on.
